critics' view

A virtual pioneer in the realm of breakbeat, Danny "LTJ" Bukem first came into prominence as a DJ at Speed, a London nightclub that catered to the celebrated drum & bass cognoscenti. With his influential Good Looking and Looking Good music labels now quite popular in the U.K., Bukem also has a solid reputation as a producer and record executive. This double disc is a compilation of several outstanding Bukem performances, along with a number of remixed tracks by his favorite drum & bass compatriots. Including classic cuts by progressive electronic artists like Photek, DJ Crystl, and Peshay, LTJ Bukem has compiled a cutting-edge collection of studio/hardware-based dance music which proudly display mid-nineties breakbeat innovations straight out of the United Kingdom. This one's highly recommended.
